The preliminary results has shown that Hon. Nwobasi of APGA has emerge the winner of Ezza North/Ishielu seat. Final Result for Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency.  APGA. 11, 894 PDP.    11, 114 APC.    10, 383 LP.        9,  075.  INEC  rejected overvoting in some PU's meant to give APC victory. Though pressure is being mounted on INEC staff to either accept the overvoting or declare the election inconclusive again. Waiting for an official declaration from INEC!

Ebonyi lawmakers threaten speaker with impeachment over gov’s loan request.

Crisis appears to be brewing at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly following the demand by members to impeach the Speaker, Francis Nwifuru, if he refuses to resign. Nwifuru, who is also the governor-elect, has been the Speaker since 2015. A document, titled, ‘Ebonyi Speaker under fire to resign or risk impeachment,’ signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, Mr Egede Sylvester, and obtained by our correspondent, said the members demanded the immediate resignation of Nwifuru and his deputy, Kingsley Ikoro, or they should face impeachment. Just in: 3 POLICEMEN WERE DISMISSED FOR DISCIPLINARY OFFENCES

The Candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the just-concluded Governorship Election in Ebonyi State, Professor Benard Odoh has asked the Election Petition Tribunal in Abakaliki, the state capital to nullify the 2023 Governorship Election in the state. Prof. Odoh noted that the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Francis Ogbonnaya Nwifuru is still a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as at the time the election was conducted in Ebonyi State. In the 37 pages of the election petition seen by our correspondent, Odoh further said that for a person to qualify to contest election for the office of Governor that he or she must be a member of a political party and be sponsored by that political party. Odii, PDP Petition Tribunal, Demand Sack Of Ebonyi Governor-elect, Nwifuru The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its governorship candidate in the just-concluded 2023 general elections, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, have asked the election petitions Tribunal sitting in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State Capital, to mandate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to the Governor-elect, Right Honourable Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, on the ground of non-qualification. They also asked the Tribunal to declare Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii, the winner of the election and return him as the elected governor of Ebonyi State in the March 18, governorship election. 12 died, as a truck, bus collide in Ebonyi.

12 out of 14 passengers in a white shuttle bus with registration number EBJ 350 XA has been confirmed killed following a fatal accident between the bus and a truck. The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps in Ebonyi State Uche Chukwurah who noted that the accident occurred at the Ezzillo community along the Abakaliki-Enugu highway on Tuesday, told Journalists that Ten of the victims were women while the other two were male. According to Chukwurah, the victims charted a 14-seater EBSU bus from Abakaliki to Enugu State to attend a burial before they met their untimely death. She further disclosed that the two persons that survived the accident sustained a high degree of injuries. “The accident involved a shuttle bus and truck.14 passengers were involved. 12 died: 10 females and 2 males. The 2 injured are receiving treatment at the hospital,” the sector commander noted.

Why Mr. Peter Obi was ‘detained’ in UK airport.

Mr. Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, was detained in London, United Kingdom, where he celebrated Easter, Head, Obi-Datti Media, Mr. Diran Onifade, has revealed. According to Onifade in a statement on Wednesday, Obi was harassed by London immigration officials and placed on detention. He said Obi arrived at the Heathrow Airport in London from Nigeria on Good Friday, April 7, 2023, and joined the queue for the necessary Airport protocols when he was accosted by immigration official who handed him a detention note and told him to step aside. He was questioned for a long time and it was very strange for a man who lived for over a decade in that country. “The high implication of the offense is that the impersonator could be committing all kinds of weighty crimes and other dubious acts and it would be recorded in Obi’s name,” Onifade said.
