Orji Uzor Kalu, Face Of The New Order In 10th Senate – Bello Osaretin

We stand rock solid behind Senator Orji Uzor Kalu declaration for Senate president of the 10th Senate, the declaration came at the most auspicious moment in the race for the coveted position of Senate leadership, a position of service to Nigerians and humanity. Today, Orji Uzor Kalu stands out to be the political equator right now to balance the north, south, east and west dichotomy that will help reshaped the convoluted political inequality and accommodate the different ethnic nationalities to further straighten the federal character principles. Senator Orji Uzor kalu leadership will bring about the needed reliefs to the political agitations of the south east geopolitical zone towards the highly touted government of national unity. Therefore, we urge the leadership of APC as a political party to be progressive and nationalistic in their outlook, by zoning the position to the south east to reflect all inclusiveness in the next administration, as all variables and pointers favours the southeast region. To this end, we admonished the political leadership of southeast zone not to be complacent in the pursuit of this project, but to find a common ground and rally support to consolidate on the progress already recorded by Orji Uzor kalu as a ranking senator in the 9th Senate, who indeed has a wide range of support base across Nigeria to harvest and galvanize the support of his colleagues in other regions to emerge the next Senate president. There are no other Igbo senators in the southeast to my knowledge, who maybe having the pedigree of OUK that will be easily acceptable and command the respect of co-Senators for the coveted position in the 10th Senate, and stand a chance of emerging as the next Senate president in comparison with the compact experience of Orji Uzor Kalu, a man that has long built bridges across Nigeria with patriotic enthusiasm. The Forum of Progressive Leaders believes strongly in the capacity and competence dexterity of Sen Orji Uzor kalu to work perfectly well with the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is on record that both men were once contemporaries as governors in 1999 till 2007,during which they bonded very well, irrespective of political affinity, these great pairs of personalities will drive the course of Nigeria through the path of greatness. Who else, if not OUK.

Crisis appears to be brewing at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly following the demand by members to impeach the Speaker, Francis Nwifuru, if he refuses to resign. Nwifuru, who is also the governor-elect, has been the Speaker since 2015. A document, titled, ‘Ebonyi Speaker under fire to resign or risk impeachment,’ signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, Mr Egede Sylvester, and obtained by our correspondent, said the members demanded the immediate resignation of Nwifuru and his deputy, Kingsley Ikoro, or they should face impeachment. The document quoted the Majority Leader of the House, Victor Chukwu, as having spoken on behalf of his colleagues, saying, “The members of the House are no longer satisfied with the leadership of the House under the administration of Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and urge him to resign in his honour and for the betterment of the state Assembly and the state at large.” On his part, the Speaker, Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, sai...
