The Rising Sun, a movie directed and produced by C.O.L.D, is set to hit cinemas soon with a fusion of old and new casts including Pete Edochie, Chiwetalu Agu, Charles Anwurum , Ebelle Okaro, Uzorimeh, Smith Nnebe. Others featured in the star-studded film are Farielysian, Adaeze Onuigbo, Maximus John, Chioma Okafor, and Snow Whiteey among others. The Rising Sun is the story of a slave camp at the heart of the Bight of Biafra in late 1700. Based on true events, a woman champions the course and stands up to British tyranny even in the face of death. Can she trust the son of the very man she calls master in her quest to liberate and restore their dignity in the land of The Rising Sun? Surely, The Sun Will Rise Again

2023 Election: I Will reclaim my mandate -Senator Onwe

The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Ebonyi Central Senatorial Zone in Ebonyi State, Senator Emmanuel Onwe has vowed to challenge the election which produces the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ken Eze as the winner in the last Saturday poll. Ebonyi lawmakers threaten speaker with impeachment over gov’s loan request.

Crisis appears to be brewing at the Ebonyi State House of Assembly following the demand by members to impeach the Speaker, Francis Nwifuru, if he refuses to resign. Nwifuru, who is also the governor-elect, has been the Speaker since 2015. A document, titled, ‘Ebonyi Speaker under fire to resign or risk impeachment,’ signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Assembly, Mr Egede Sylvester, and obtained by our correspondent, said the members demanded the immediate resignation of Nwifuru and his deputy, Kingsley Ikoro, or they should face impeachment.
